The Hotchkiss Film Festival is an annual short film competition for high school students all around the world with the opportunity to connect with other young filmmakers and professionals working in the industry today.

The Film Festival consists of three sections: the narrative, the documentary, and the experimental. The judges award prizes to filmmakers who have shown great talent in the cinematic arts, focusing on visual storytelling.

The Film Festival Competition is open to all high school students who currently represent their respective schools, but the festival is open to everyone who wishes to join the celebration. We try to make an eclectic and diverse group of films for the community to enjoy.

The Festival is held in Walker Auditorium at the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut.

The Festival was founded by two Hotchkiss students, Carla Frankenbach '12 and Brian Ryu '13 in 2012 with the hopes that the Hotchkiss Film Festival could provide a channel for young filmmakers to have the opportunity to showcase their works, make connections outside their schools, and possibly to contribute to the film industry in the future.
